Breakfree Great Sandy Straits, Hervey Bay

We booked our stay expecting a nice getaway, but unfortunately, the accommodations were not up to par. While the views were beautiful and the location had potential, the room we got was dated, had a terrible odour, and was in desperate need of maintenance. We experienced several issues including cleanliness and a lack of basic amenities, which left us disappointed throughout our stay.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. On the plus side, the beach view was absolutely stunning, and the location was peaceful. However, the apartment itself was in dire need of refurbishing and lacked some basic amenities, affecting the overall experience. While it offered a nice setting, the price didn't feel justified for the condition of the accommodation.

The location of the hotel is excellent, especially for whale watching and accessing Fraser Island. We had a smooth check-in and check-out experience, and enjoyed the proximity to restaurants. However, the apartment had too many stairs to navigate with luggage, and the lack of Wi-Fi and air conditioning in the bedrooms made our stay uncomfortable at times.

I had a mixed experience at this resort. While the location is fantastic with views of the beach and easy access to local restaurants, the rooms left much to be desired with cleanliness and outdated decor. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were responsive, but the lack of Wi-Fi was a real hassle. If you're looking for a place to just unwind and enjoy the view, this might work, but don't expect modern amenities.

However, the cleanliness of the accommodations left much to be desired, with musty odors and unkempt areas, which can be pretty disappointing. Overall, it felt like a mixed experience, balancing beautiful surroundings with shortcomings in upkeep.
